Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide the youth of Santa Cruz County a football and cheer program that offers a safe and fun environment, where they can learn the skills of the sport, along with the important values of teamwork, sportsmanship, self-esteem and discipline. We believe these are all vital aspects of developing well-rounded athletes and forming good citizens within our community.

Code of Conduct for Board Members, Parents and Coaching Staff

By a vote of at least two thirds of the board, the directors may impeach any member of the board for dishonesty, incompetence, and/or for failure to uphold the code of conduct set forth for board members as follows:
  • Board members and coaches shall not smoke in the presence of the players in dressing rooms, on the bench or during workouts. Neither will they drink alcohol or be under the influence of alcohol in the presence of the players in dressing rooms, on the bench, during workouts or during games.
  • Board members and coaches further must agree to conduct themselves properly at all meeting and association events by avoiding the use of profanity, creating no undue disturbances, and obeying all rules governing the association. The board of directors shall have the authority to suspend, discharge or otherwise discipline any member, coach, leader, participant or other person whose conduct is considered unbecoming or detrimental to the best interests and objectives of the association. Disciplinary measures must be approved by a two-thirds vote of the total Board membership.
  • Further, coaches will not berate players before spectators or other players during a game, criticize officials or dispute their decisions publicly, or advocate a drastic weight loss program so that a player can meet weight requirements.
  • Parents of participants shall not disrupt or interfere in the practices or games. They shall not use profanity, or publicly criticize the coaching staff, officials or players in the presence of spectators at games or practices. Parents engaging in offensive behavior shall be asked to leave the premises and may be prohibited by the SVAA from attending future games or practices.
